Hands off Cuba and Venezuela!

On Saturday, May 20, 2006, the Vancouver Art Gallery was the location for a very successful demonstration against American interference in Cuba and Venezuela. Speakers from many organizations spoke passionately in defence of the human revolution and the very positive changes taking place in Venezuela. Reference was made to the fact that the infant mortality rate in Cuba is the lowest in all of the Central and Latin American nations and that homelessness does not exist in Cuba. Speakers applauded Venezuela's recent accomplishments, including the recent elimination of illiteracy and the recent introduction of free health care for all. I was inspired, as I always am, at events in support of revolution.
